Central Arizona College Celebrates 40 Years

Central Arizona College (CAC) celebrated its 40th anniversary on November 13 and 14 with a series of events that focused on where the school has been, what it has accomplished and of course, family fun.

The celebration kicked off with a ceremony dedicating the new Wall of Success monument and a ceremony honoring its inaugural members. The Wall was erected to display the names of students who have received the Extraordinary Alumni Achievement Award. Forty-four former students are currently on the list but the school plans on adding more on yearly basis.

Representatives from the student government and many others were on hand for the invitation only luncheon held on Saturday which honored many of the faculty and staff who worked at the college when it first opened in the sixties. They were treated to an expansive, catered meal and a presentation lauding their contributions in making the college what it is today.

Saturday afternoon was filled with demonstrations of everything CAC has to offer. Basketball games, music recitals, department demonstrations and art exhibits, if CAC does it, it was being done for the public to see. The activities were topped off by a large helping of family events and the evening ended with a performance by the SRP band and a fireworks display.
