H1N1 Vaccines Arrive at Pinal County

The Pinal County Public Health Services District today announced receipt of the first shipment of H1N1 Live Attenuated Influenza Vaccine (LAIV), also known as FluMist®.  The nasal spray vaccine is approved for healthy individuals from 2 months through 49 years of age who are not pregnant and do not have certain health conditions.

Back to Basics in Birthing

In an age of significant medical evolution, is it really best to go back to basics and let Mother Nature take over when it comes to birthing? Yes, according to Alison Haasch, 37, owner of LifeSpring Midwifery, LLC, in San Tan Valley.

“Women’s bodies instinctively know what to do during a birth, and will perform perfectly if we help it instead of interfering,” says Haasch, whose philosophy is that birthing is a normal body process, not a medical event.
